“Collaboration Chronicles”: This  section contains stories and photos of collaboration and teamwork at meetings and events in the EMEA Region

Cook arranged a visit between the 3-6th of July, for  three Israelian physicians – Dr. Tal Segev, Vascular Surgeon at Belinson Hospital, Petah Tikva, Dr Mohamad Nogedat, Vascular Surgeon at Carmel Hospital, Haifa and Dr. Chen Speter, Vascular Surgeon at Sheba Hospital, Ramat Gan – to Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, Portugal – Prof. Luís Mendes Pedro and his team.

Objective was to provide the physicians with an opportunity to observe complex endovascular procedures and engage in a theoretical discussion. Throughout the visit, Prof. Luís Mendes Pedro and his team provided explanations and answered questions posed by the Israeli physicians, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the procedures and their underlying principles.

Visit was organized by Biosonda Ltd., Fernando Paulino; Getter BioMed Ltd, Haim Houminer and Cook Medical Vascular Division, Anna Such.

The three Israeli physicians, eager to enhance their knowledge and gain insights from renowned experts, were welcomed by Prof. Luís Mendes Pedro and his team.

Physicians had the opportunity to witness endovascular procedures, FEVAR (2 fenestrations) + IBD, FEVAR (4 fenestrations) and EVAR with bilateral IBD cases. These were performed by Prof. Luís Mendes Pedro, Dr. Pedro Amorim, Dr. Alice Lopes, Dr. Rui Fernandes.

The visit ended with theoretical sessions by Prof. Luís Mendes Pedro and Dr. Ryan Melo, discussions, tips and tricks about how they manage aortic Dissections and FEVAR cases.

The opportunity to witness life cases in the OR, combined with the theoretical discussion, significantly contributed to their professional development.  This exchange of expertise and collaboration between distributor countries was a great success! 😊
